To the Thoth Channellers:

>7) We do not know of any other 'channels' who have met with an astronaut
>with scientific credentials, and had their information validated by same.
>This alone sets the source apart from much (not all) of what is present in
>the New Age / Metaphysical / Channeling community. Etc
>
>8) What we have to offer is a perspective from another dimension of reality.
>We do not propose that it is all there is. We offer the only thing we have
>to offer to those in the scientific community that would be willing to
>consider it as containing a potential, whether they understand it fully or
>not. etc

In my previous posting I did not wish to imply that, notwithstanding her
impressive credentials, your wife was an incompetent channeller. Rather that
the phenomenon of channelling, being an alleged form of telepathic
communication with alleged supra-luminal beings of greater or lesser status,
is subject to various interpretations depending on which paradigm one wishes
to employ. How is the listener able to tell whether your wife's
channellings, for example, represent the 'real' Thoth, if such a discrete
entity exists in or outside of time and space, or the sophisticated products
of her unconscious mind, or even perhaps some bogus diety masquerading as
the 'real' Thoth? Do all Thoth channellers channel the same Thoth? Does
experience and dedication count, I don't know.

All paradigms require the participants to enter into an agreement, conscious
or unconscious, with the base axioms of the paradigm. If I were to accept
your assertion that your wife is channelling this supernatural being, then
my mind would happily begin creating the unconscious mental substructure
necessary to sustain that belief. Soon, I too would begin receiving messages
from Thoth. Not necessarily from channelling, but I would begin to notice
certain images, hints, coincidences, strange events, circumstances etc that
would confirm that Thoth is near. Perhaps this might not be a such a bad
idea, Thoth is after all the ancient god of science and enlightenment.

However it may be already too late for this, as I have already given myself
over to the worship of the goddess Ma'at, who teaches balance, order and
fairness, without which all earthly things eventually come unstuck. Can my
limited brain accommodate another supra-luminal being, probably not,
therefore I will accept your Thoth channellings as valid for this purpose.

The test for all channellings, apart from (in my view) their major purpose
as a wholistic spiritual focal point for religious communities, is whether
or not they provide useful information to the seeker. A good example might
be the Findhorn community, where the communications of Dorothy with the
fairies enabled the community members to grow a remarkable garden in hostile
conditions. (Often of course the usefulness of the information provided may
not be immediately obvious, but this is not the fault of the channeller).

Thus far, Thoth has appeared to provide only general information that cannot
be put to any good use. Can Thoth be persuaded to be more specific?
