Typically a message sent to the moderated list takes from 24 to 48 hours
before it is resent to the list participants. If there is anything in a
message that goes contrary to the list rules then it will generally take at
least another 24 hours or more before the mail passes the moderators
criteria and is posted to the list participants. Binga does a wonderful job
of sticking to his established rules of the list.
The following are verbatim excerpts taken from Binga's list FAQ:
"In other words: please refrain from posts based solely on opinion
(professional opinions excluded of course)."
"I also ask that we limit our anecdotal accounts to first-person
testimonials, as many times third- or fourth-person hearsay is based solely
upon rumour."
I understand the reasoning behind the tightly moderated mail list. However
because I believe the nature of the subject of White Gold is full of
opinions and personal experiences that can not be qualified or quantified, I
would like to have a place where there are no restrictions on what you can
write and from my personal point of view no restrictions on my getting to
hear about all of the various participants opinions, anecdotal accounts and
beliefs. I believe I am fully capable of evaluating an anecdotal account or
a persons belief as it relates to me without the need for any form of prior
censorship. The following exchange posted to the list (by accident I assume)
a couple of days ago is a minor example. I understand that it is Gary's
opinion but I do not feel the need to have this type of obvious conclusion
or statement of opinion censored.

That little change resulted in another delay of almost exactly 24 hours
before the message appeared on the list. It obviously was not critical that
the above message be posted 24 hours earlier however the speed of operation
of an open list such as the one I am proposing will allow for an original
post and several back and forth replies to occur on the same day.
I also would like to hear more about the personal opinions and experiences
of people like Byrun Fox in Canada who has been taking Acemannan for a while
now without having his totally subjective opinions edited out. Byrun has a
number of people who are purchasing Acemannan from him and taking it that he
can not freely tell us about because one of the rules of the moderated list
is that no second party anecdotal experiences are allowed to be told.
This is not sour grapes on my part. I really appreciate the work and
dedication that Binga has gone through to provide the White Gold list. It is
his list and he has every right in the world to set and enforce the rules
that he has established.
If there are enough people out there that have an interest in participating
in an un-moderated White Gold list I will maintain the list as part of my
LyghtForce server. If there are not then it will quickly die and go away.
The only hard and fast rule that I will enforce on this new list will be
that all participants show common courtesy and respect for each other. The
primary topic remains the same as the moderated list but is not absolutely
limited to it. The moderated list will still be there for anyone who feels
the need to remain anonymous and wants to restrict the content of discussion.
Since I had to type in the 50 or so email addresses I gleaned from the
moderated White Gold list, I went ahead and created a White Gold mail list
in my Server at LyghtForce. I entered the email addresses directly into
that new list. By doing it this way you are already subscribed to this
"proposed" un-moderated list. I then sent this letter to
WhiteGold@LyghtForce.com for distribution.
I apologize in advance if this causes you any inconvenience. By following
the instructions below you can quickly and easily remove yourself from this
new un-moderated list.
If enough people remain on the list and participate to make it worthwhile I
will leave it run. If not then after a few weeks I will simply erase it
from my List Server.
