The Dreams Upon Each Theme
Life and Death dreams: A dream of danger. A Turkish girl is in great danger, he must save her. Great danger of physical violence unless she can escape. Life and death. If he does not save her she will go to the gas chamber. Waiting for an exam, a test. Dark. Winter. The room was dark but just through a little door I could see into a lighted room where the exam would take place. I am very scared. Great anxiety, how to survive, how to stay alive, a question of life and death. All the people in the exam room are dressed in black, in a very formal manner. The atmosphere is very strict. I am dressed in a very casual manner, in a jogging outfit. Very anxious about this. If I do not pass exam I will be treated very badly. In a house. A small side window like they have in Finland to let a little air in was open. So many birds came in, they took over the house. Thousands of birds. They began to attack her. She went into the bed and pulled the covers over her head and body. All birds came through a small window. After the birds left, people carried out water which had come in the house with the birds. A big catastrophe. A room, all the furniture is on the left side. The whole room is shaking like an earthquake. Great fear as the furniture is flying around. In the room it is dark but through the window one could see light outside. The biggest fear was that the whole house was sinking into the earth. She looked out of the window and everything was normal. This cannot be happening. The panic was in the chest.
Deceit and Crime dreams: (Atrax) Assessing a place for building investment. If we all put our money together we could earn something. We are meeting to discuss this. Then another man appears with a vending machine and he takes the meeting over. It is obvious to me that he is a crook, a night club owner, a Mafia casino type operator. Gambling. The vending machine has a slot where you put the money in. He brushes the coins aside and hides them. He is dishonest. Takes the coins and does not say anything. I am aware that I don't care. That is his problem. It is not important to me. The dreamer is with a good friend. They have a good relationship. The friend is an actor and photographer. He overcharged for one of his photographs. It was not a big offense but he got into trouble with the police over this. The dreamer made a brilliant plan for their escape into the mountains but overlooked the fact that he was already being observed by the police. They escaped to the mountains, but when they arrived the police were there waiting for them and put the handcuffs on them. He was weeping. A beautiful day and green grass, sun shining. He was going to prison and would never see this again. Deep sadness. Handbags. A visitor has selection of bags to show her but she is not interested. Then suddenly she notices another woman who is leaving and taking all the bags with her. She stops her and says, "You cannot take these bags. They do not belong to you, they belong to my visitor." Then she tried to take a bowl of mine with fruit salad in it. I look for a bowl to give her to carry the fruit salad, but I have already given all away that I am prepared to give. The woman wanted to have everything, to get as much as she could. She is tall, and took up a lot of space. Greedy. In these dreams we see both this underhanded, crafty deception as well as a more direct and straightforward desire to take what is not ones own. A greed.
Sex and Intrigue dreams: She met a man who had been a friend of hers in the past. In the dream he was much younger than he had been at the time she knew him. He wanted to have sex with her and she said you are just a young boy, not even a man. But she became interested and they were in the house of friends. She wanted sex but could not find a bed. Every time they found a bedroom they were interrupted and never managed to do anything. It was a good feeling that a young man was so interested in her. A man was raising doves, he held two different kinds of doves together and forced them to have sex and interbreed. He held them there until they did it. The dreamer was enraged about the violent way in which he did it. Then she spent a long time thinking, "What is the point of doing it in this way, this breeding?" Sadness about the fact that this man was able to be this violent. A friend tells the dreamer how she is very sad. Her parents do not understand he. She has to masturbate all he time. This is an obsession. Her father found the pornographic literature she uses to excite herself and forbade her to masturbate. She has a compulsion to masturbate and they cannot understand this. Brother and wife and her and her daughter in a huge bed in a cave with furs, cozy. They are all naked and warm. Beautiful feeling, light, even though lying all over each other. Sensual totally sensual on the skin. Such a connection, not really knowing, is this his skin or my skin? Dream Abstracts

Physical symptoms: Symbol of the Spider "Popular conception classes the spider purely as an ogre, a lurking menace that deals horrible death to the unwary. And so it is, but this is only half the picture. The other half shows a wee, timorous, cowering beastie, a creature so persecuted and preyed on that it is a wonder it survives." [2] There exist some 30,000 species of spiders which may be broadly divided into five major groups:
The Web weavers: Aranea, Theridion and Latrodectus, Scorpions are not strictly spiders but belong to the same natural order of Arachnida and for our purposes are most akin to the Wolf spiders, such as Tarantula. Spiders are exclusively carnivorous, seizing only live prey. They use several strategies to capture prey: active hunting, waiting in ambush, and making and using traps of silk. Each species of spider has its own individual patterns of living, breeding and dying. Yet some value may be found by generalizing within each of the five major groupings. The web spiders wrap their prey to immobilize it and drag it to a different section of the web. Wolf spiders are so called because they go out and hunt down their prey. Thus the web weavers spin and wait for their prey to become entangled in the web. They have very poor eyesight and a highly developed sense of touch. The wolf spiders (Tarantula) on the other hand go out and hunt their prey and thus possess excellent eyesight and the capacity for speedy motion. "Lycosa, when mature, lives in a burrow above which she has erected a parapet, and from this parapet she surveys the territory over which she holds sway. Should any wayfarer approach she crouches down and gets ready for a quick take-off. Hers is the method of the cheetah, an animal that is a famous sprinter but no stayer. So, the wayfarer, plodding along, awakens to the fact that something is coming down on him like an express train. One backward look is sufficient; the wayfarer accelerates frantically. But usually it is hopeless; the Tarantula has a flying start and is on him almost before he has started. The wayfarer is then either eaten on the spot or dragged to the cellar and eaten there." [3] Spiders often feed on other spiders and thus communal life is rare. The males leave their webs and go out in search of the female to mate. Generally speaking, the female is quite a bit larger than her consort. The Black Widow gets her name from the habit of killing and consuming the male after the sex act. Unlike in the mammalian world, this is not an uncommon phenomenon in the insect realm. A cursory investigation of the social relationships of certain insects brings one to an immediate and powerful sense of nightmare, of a strange planet on which the inhabitants live lives that cannot be judged or comprehended by normal human experience [4]. Yet this inhumanity does not account for the totality of feeling directed towards the spider. Many insects carry these horribly inhuman manifestations, yet the spider is on a par with the snake; the impulse to search out and destroy any spider is common to the Western psyche. The web is beautiful, but the spider is feared. The web is so easily destroyed and the spider is sought out and killed. What is the energy in the human psyche that resonates so with the being of the spider that it produces such powerful effects? The spider spins this fine, delicate web then sits in the middle, waiting and receiving impressions. The slightest disturbance of the atmosphere, a sound wave, an imperceptible current of air and the spider knows, senses the vibration of its net. She is so sensitive, so subtle, yet not really connected to the earth, not grounded, but suspended. Here we may understand something of the psychic nature, and contrast it to that of the snake. This latter is a powerful force, a channel of communication between the Gods and man. The Caduces, the Kundalini rising upwards. Forces descending downwards. Now the spider spreads his web laterally, connecting and sensing all the surrounding energies. Thus, the great sensitivity to sensual impressions, to sound, to light and to the thought energy of surrounding beings. The degree to which one or another of the components of the pattern are emphasized depends upon the particular spider. The poisonous may be expected to generate more fear and violence whilst the more benign will tend towards milder and more delicate forms of manipulation. |
